My GPSMap66 could not find the update after 8 hours and it does not show up in Garmin Express. Who was more lucky?

Same problem here.
Fixed with garmin webupdater. Best there is, works always.

The GPS finally loaded the new release 2.8 but could not install it. I restarted the device many times and I was asked every time if I would like to install 2.8. No success - other than 2.5 which worked for me.
Finally I could load the new release using the good old Garmin Express. So far it seems to work.
I would hope Garmin would spend a bit of money for some good software test experts...

I was really looking forward to this update, as my unit has been very buggy. What an underwhelming update! My device still shuts off regularly, especially during geogaching activities. At one point, my map wouldn't load until I turned it on and off under the Map Setup option. The trip total elevation gain/loss is still completely off. And the latest bug is that the 'Time Stopped' field doesn't work in the trip computer. Each stop adds only a second of time regardless of the length of the stop. Does Garmin ever look at this site and look into reported bugs? I can't believe this unit has been out for almost 6 months with software as buggy as this.

You have [Setup] > [Recording] > [Auto Pause] = [On]?
