That's why most people don't buy maps preloaded on a micro-SD card! (unless it work for their intended purpose)oldcrashtestdummy wrote: ↑Sun Mar 17, 2019 5:52 pm Thanks for all the info gpsrchive and ivhs72. I don't understand the purpose of being able to accept a 32 GB micro sd card, only to loose all that by using a Garmin map card.
This would be true for any map data you have loaded. Again, why most of use prefer the old CD-ROM version of the maps, which allowed us to load the areas we need to our device (via BaseCamp) as we desire.oldcrashtestdummy wrote: ↑Sun Mar 17, 2019 5:52 pm Also what happens if you are following a zig zag route along border, do you have to keep removing the card and installing the correct one every time you cross the map boundary.
The only remaining option is the digital download, which of course also locks the map to the device it is purchased for. I believe you can load this map to an installed micro-SD card of your choosing, however the map will not load if the micro-SD card is installed in another GPSr.
