Hi,
My unit just power off when I am trying to find out a location to download a Birdseye image.
After I input the name, the unit shows a list of locations and then just powered off before the list ended
It's seems a bug. I do not know if this is a new one.
Regards

Firmware 6.00?
Have you tried any other method to choose a location?

Re: Birdseye by location - Bug
Hi,
Yes, I have the version 6.00 on my unit.
I already did an image download to my GPS but based on my actual location with no problem.
Yesterday I was trying to do an image download to my GPS but using the possibility to find the area I want by name.
It is little bit annoying. It's not my first Garmin GPS but it is odd that after almost two years this unit has too many crash bugs.
Let's see how will be the Garmin responses.
To me Garmin has too many GPS models.
Many thanks

You are leaving out important details about the exact steps you are taking with your GPSMAP 66 to help us recreate the issue.
Step-by-step, what are you selecting and entering to create the crash?

Re: Birdseye by location - Bug
Hi,
I will try to explain what I did yesterday
Suppose you want to load a new birdseye image to your GPS unit near some New York street (sorry I have never been in NY). So You have the possibility doing that enter the name of the street or neigbour you want. That was what I did. At the downloading page I chose Location and after Cities. Here I enter the name of the city I want. The unit give me a list of cities with similar names to let me chose the one I really want. Is here, when the GPS shows me the list that the crash happens.
I hope my explanation is enough
Resuming
Main Page --> Birdseye Direct --> Loading Images --> Location --> Cities --> Menu to enter the name of the city or place to do the search.
The unit shows the list and crash (turns off)
Many thanks
Regards
Antonio

Thank You!
Which maps do you have enabled? (try disabling all but one and retest each map independently)
We select City and no crash for us.
However, the BirdsEye servers are currently not available to actually load the imagery 8^(
