What are Trails? and what can I do with it?

Hi Oregonists,
When I use the 'Where to?' mode, I can choose for 'Trails'.
Then I see a number of titles, different from my list of tracks or routes,
When I click one of the trails my Oregon 650 tells me to
'select a destination and press GO.
This trail will be
strongly preferred in
the calculated route.
Could anyone please tell me what this is, or how it comes in my Oregon, or what I can do with it.
