Routing problems with maps from alternativaslibres.org

Does anyone else use maps from alternativaslibres.org ? I recently tried their maps after the maps at http://garmin.openstreetmap.nl/ stopped getting updated. I quite like them except I'm getting an occasional routing irregularity, and wondered if anyone else is having the same issue. The problem is...

Re: problems when batteries are being recharged by GPSr

re "spanner mode", being asked whether to go into USB mode every time the car is started sounds like a pain. Do you know whether this happens when plugged into a "dumb" USB port as well (ie one that is purely for charging and has no computer interface behind it)?

I initially had some locking-up problems, but lately, no problems.

Re: problems when batteries are being recharged by GPSr

What equipment are you using between your vehicle 12v DC and your GPSMAP 66? I've tried the old Garmin-supplied cigarette lighter adapter I bought with with my old GPSMap 60csx, and also some 2 amp 12V-to-USB sockets that I fitted to the car. Both behave about the same. When you crank the engine, a...

problems when batteries are being recharged by GPSr

I had a friend make me a little piece of plastic on his 3D printer that slips between the 2 rechargeable batteries and presses the little switch down so the GPSr knows it has rechargeable batteries and will recharge them in the device. It works great in that the batteries do recharge. However, the G...

Re: "Recent Finds"

If by the "Where To?" menu, you mean all the options that appear when you press "Find", then yes, I agree.

"Recent Finds"

With my old GPSMAP 60csx, anything I searched for, or navigated to, ended-up in the Recent Finds category. This was mostly very good, although when creating a bunch of waypoints, they would all end-up in there too which generally was a pain (but good if you just created one or two waypoints). With m...

Re: BaseCamp keeps reinstating old track logs

yes, it's Express doing the work, but I presumed it would have been getting it's data from Communicator. However, I deleted tracks/activities out of Communicator and they were still reinstated on the gpsr. However, the solution seems to be to tediously (5 button clicks) delete them one-by-one from t...

Re: BaseCamp keeps reinstating old track logs

I'm using a PC. Yes, my gpsr is connected to Garmin Express on the PC - I suspect that is what is doing the "damage".
