Re: Montana 7x0 Firmware 9.20

Re: GPSMAP 66s Waypoints Not Displayed in BaseCamp

EnvTech,

Please provide screen captures from BaseCamp and the GPSr to clearly illustrate the behavior you are observing, so that others can attempt to duplicate it.

Thank you!

Re: Altimeter cannot be calibrated when activity is not started

I tested this before responding, and I found that in fact the calibration does work, however the Barometer data field does not display the 'calibrated value' unless you are actively recording a tracklog. If you repeat steps 1-5, then start a recording, you will see the Barometer Data Field immediate...

Re: Blue pin needle missing in routes

I do not know if this was an intentional or accidental change.

Perhaps some screen captures here will help me understand why you need the blue flags/pins?

Re: Recording interval vs. 10Hz

To my knowledge, there are no Garmin handheld GPSr that can record track points or any other data faster than 1 Hz. Recording at 1 Hz will result in a track point saved every 14 feet when moving at a speed of 10 mph. How much variation can there be in your track log between two points 14 feet apart ...

Re: Via Points lost using 'Change Route Activity' [Bug 64]

I may then have to perform yet another Master Reset on my Montana 7x0 and start over from the beginning again. This gets really old, and only reveal's the incompetency of Garmin software engineers...

Re: Track names are shown wrongly in archive

Ahh, that is the part I was not understanding. The tracks have to be exported from BaseCamp, which does allow using the "." in the name. BaseCamp still crashes every single time I connect my Montana 7x0, so I can not test this. Can you please provide some screen captures from the Montana 7...

Re: Blue pin needle missing in routes

Most users 'hate' those blue pins, and go out of their way to load transparent blank icons onto their GPSr to prevent them from being displayed.

Why do you want to see them?

Duplicated multiple times.

Reported to Garmin software engineers.

Re: Via Points lost using 'Change Route Activity' [Bug 64]

Create a simple route by selecting a nearby waypoint and beginning 'Direct' navigation to it. The Map page displays a single magenta route line from your current position to the destination. This is currently the only 'leg' of the route. Now select another waypoint and add as a 'Via Point' to the cu...
