Waypoints



 

A waypoint is a favorite location that you mark on the map. It can be an address, an existing map feature, a point of interest, or any other point on the map. You can use waypoints to mark places like your home, a camp site, or a favorite scenic point.


Mark Waypoint

Mark any position on the map as a waypoint:
  1. Click My Collection, or select the desired list in My Collection.
  2. Click File > New > Waypoint or select the Waypoint tool in the toolbar.
  3. Click a point on the map.
  4. Edit waypoint properties.


Move Waypoint

Move a waypoint on the map by editing the position coordinates in the waypoint properties tab, or:
  1. Select a waypoint in the Library and Devices area.
  2. Click the Move Point tool in the toolbar.
  3. Click and drag the waypoint to a new location.


Edit Waypoint

Changes to waypoint properties are saved automatically:
  1. Double-click a waypoint in the Library and Devices area.
  2. Enter information in any of the following fields as needed:
    • Name | change the waypoint name that appears in the Library and Devices area.
    • Display | change the waypoint symbol and the display style that appears on the map.
    • Position | change the position coordinates of the waypoint.
    • Elevation | change the elevation of the waypoint.
    • Depth | change the depth of the waypoint.
    • Proximity | enter a proximity alert radius for the waypoint.
    • Temperature | record a temperature for the waypoint.
    • Street | enter the street address of the waypoint.
    • City
    • State
    • Postal Code
    • Country
    • Phone Number


Copy Waypoint

Drag and Drop any waypoint(s) within BaseCamp to the desired List, or:


Delete Waypoint



Import Waypoint

Drag and Drop any waypoint(s) from your computer to the desired List, or:

Export Waypoint

Drag and Drop any waypoint(s) to the desired device, or:
