Hi,
I don’t have my Garmin at the moment, or it would be simple to find out.

Say you have a top map in the GPS memory, and City Navigator on SD card.

Could you save the CN map selection with the driving profile, and the top map with the Hiking profile,
so the appropriate map is auto selected with the profile?

Yes, enabled and disabled map selections are saved independently with each profile.
