Installed the 5.30 firmware on top of the failing 5.20.
So far so good.
Haven't seen anything wrong with 5.30, but my testing has been very limited.
Will wait for next spring and summer.

Firmware for the Taiwan and non-Taiwan versions are different.
Do not update the firmware from Garmin Taiwan website.
You should update your firmware using Webupdater.
