Data field display

Unread post by dmb1319 »

My Montana 600 displays small data fields just fine. My Montana 610 - does not.

I cannot figure out why. I've done the same thing to enable them on the map display:
Select Map > Menu > Setup Map > Dashboard.
Select Small Data Fields or Large Data Field.

I've looked at Settings, Display, Appearance and cannot find anything that might prevent the data fields from displaying. I have small data fields selected. I have tried large data fields but they do not display either.

I would be grateful for any thoughts on this.

Screen captures would be very helpful here.

Do you just need to touch the 'chevron' to open the data field dashboard display?

I will be happy to screen shot anything helpful. I am just not sure what that would be.
A map display with no data fields?
Steps to selecting Small Data Fields? This is as I listed:
From the main menu (Home Screen) - mine is customized to include only:
Trip Computer
Mark Waypoint
Map
Waypoint Manager
Clear and Reset - a custom shortcut that clears the Trip Computer, resets it and leaves me at the Track Manager
Track Manager
Tap Map
Tap menu - you may be referring to this as the 'chevon' icon. I'm more used to it being called the sandwich menu. It is three horizontal lines.
Tap Setup Map
Tap Dashboard
From the list of options Tap Small Data Fields
Tap the left arrow at the bottom left of the display to return to the map - where there are no data fields on the 610. But the 600 correctly displays the small data fields here.

Just let me know what you would like in screen shots and how to include them here and I'll get to work.

This thingo I circled in red I believe is the chevron referred to.
It allows showing and hiding of dashboards.

Boy! Is my face RED!
The light came on and the elevator went all the way to the top floor!

I've always had a hard time getting those icons to respond so I never use them. If I want to turn off the dashboard I just go into settings and select Dashboard > None.

THANK you! Problem solved!

You're welcome.
I also find they need to be tapped just right or they don't work 8-)
