Altimeter / Barometer calibration issues

Hello,

I have problems calibrating the altimeter of my 65s, latest firmware.

When I enter the known altitude manually, then the altitude will not become effective.
When I select to use altitude from satellite this seems to work.

Does someone experience the same? Or is there some magic Garmin algorithm?

What firmware version is installed, please?

You say the 'latest', and today we have a good idea what that might be, but someone reading this post a year or more from now will not.

firmware version 4.50

Would be nice if some other people could report the same or could tell how it works - maybe I have a misunderstanding or there is a special feature which may make any sense - since dualband GNSS position may be given trust above manual input, etc.

We just tested out GPSMAP 65s v4.50, calibrated the Altimeter using a 'known value' that was about 100 feet higher than what the GPS elevation reports, and we see exactly what we entered in the Trip Computer Data field +/- 3 feet. This appears to be working properly.

Why do you think your GPSMAP 65 is not working properly?

Screen captures may help explain your issue....

Hm, this is odd. I was observing this already long ago (more than 1 year) on a public geo reference point. But not followed-up.
I observed today that by resetting the trip computer the altitude seems to be set to the GNSS altitude.
I am reading the altitude from the trip computer page which seems to be the optimized altitude out of GPS and barometer.

Are you now satisfied with the way it is working, or do you still think there is an issue? I can not determine for certain from your comments.
