Hi!

After updating to 9.60 I noticed the new feature on/off course alerts during a hike:
Every now and then the device was beeping when the track was left and when the GPS location matched the track again. In addition a confirmation message popped up. This feature was pretty useful when we really left the trail - the notification came pretty quick and we adjusted.
But even when we were on track the Garmin beeped really often. When checking the map we were about 10m beside the track but still on course.
After a while it got really, really annoying. A beep every five minutes or so.
I couldn't find a way to get rid of it - even disabling sounds and alarms completely didn't work. Every setting I changed was completely ignored.
My solution was to downgrade to 7.60 again.
Is there a way to adjust the sensitivity of this feature? Or is possible to disable it entirely?

Many users are complaining about this *NEW* 'Off Course Alert' and the lack of options to enable/disable and/or adjust alert sensitivity.

I have had issues with Off Course warnings a long time ago but not with the latest update. The only settings to enable / disable it, that I am aware of, are in the Marine settings. Go to main menu, setup, marine, marine alarm setup.

Yes, - I tried this, too.
But unfortunately with this new feature the setting has no effect.

Please would the site admins add the fact that the course alert tones do not respect the

(Menu) > (Menu) > [Setup] > [Tones] > [Tones] = [Off] setting

to the Common Issues list.

Please would some kind soul tell me how to backtrack to 7.60, so that I can stop being driven mad by the infernal chirruping of this feature on 9.60? Or point this newcomer to previous discussion of how you move to an earlier firmware version? Thanks in advance.
