Hi,
just received my GPSMap 66s, updated it to 7.20, transferred all maps, GPXs, ...
All fine.
But one thing puzzles me:
On the 64s and eTrex when activated the power-save feature I would tap the D-pad (or any button) to wake the screen up.
On the 66s this doesnt work. Do I really have to reach up to the power-key or am I missing a setting?
Greetings
Possible to wake up using any key?

You are not missing anything, this is exactly how it is supposed to be.
With previous models, if carried inside a pack with other items, or even alone, any jostling of the pack could cause unintentional key presses that frequently resulted in unwanted device setting changes and/or unnecessary battery drain.
Limiting this function to the now repositioned power button resolved those issues

Well, that never happened to me, carrying the device on a belt clip or even inside pockets of my trousers.
Maybe the best way would be a tri-state: off, wake up using power button, wake up using any button?

Re: Possible to wake up using any key?
The 66 is on my backpack using the belt clip.
I have not run into any problems using the power button to turn the screen back on.
It stays off most the time when hiking or geocaching.
You still have to push the button on the belt clip to take the 66 off
So now you have the 66 in your hand and you hit the power button.
When I need to see the screen I just push the power button.
Then clip it back on the backpack.
Hiking and geocaching is meant to be relaxing and not be stress out over turning the 66 on via the power button.
