According to the help files you can pair a 66 to multiple devices, it says!
My #1 phone works fine in Bluetooth mode
I want to add the 66 to a second phone i have but it will not do it
Followed all the instructions but no the 66 will not go into discover mode
If you go Menu-setup- bluetooth it shows what has already been set up
The only choice is to delete the first arrangement
Any suggestions as to how to invoke discovery mode please
Or is the 2nd device facility not really available
Thanks in anticipation
Mike

Re: Pair a 66st to a second IOS smart phone?
https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=z ... etoothwifi
So this is the link
Reading it again I am wondering if I have read too much into it
One can interpret it saying " the device can be paired to various smartphones". It doesn't confirm " one device, two phones
My issue is I am 10000km from home in S Africa with my spare iPhone #2 fitted with a local sim card data only. This is the one I want to pair the 66 to.
I guess I will just have to tether the #1 phone ( linked to the 66) to get data
Unless of course someone can put me right on linking a 66 to multiple phones please
Thks in anticipation
Mike

Re: Pair a 66st to a second IOS smart phone?
We are investigating, please stand by....
We have determined that the term 'Various', inferred from 'several compatible smartphones', does not mean 'Multiple'. Various (several) smartphone products are compatible, but you can not use multiple smartphone simultaneously.
A potential workaround would be to forget Phone #1 on the GPSMAP 66 and pair with Phone #2 until no longer needed, then pair again to Phone #1.

Re: Pair a 66st to a second IOS smart phone?
Thank you for your advice
What i have since done , successfully , is to turn on the personal hotspot on the #2 iPhone (with the data card)
Added that network to the 66 inc WPA code and i am please to say it works
Therefore the #1 iPhone is not involved at all
The live downloads then works fine
Thank you
Ps I find pairing the 66 to an iPhone a pain. I found that it has taken many attempts to succeed via G Connect app. It is very flakey so the fewer times i have to do the better

You make an excellent point.
For those who can enable a personal hotspot and then link the Wi-Fi on the GPSr, Garmin Connect and the Bluetooth pairing process can be circumvented altogether, at least for this purpose!
