Re: Total ascent figures [Bug 66]
My total ascent descent readings as well. Mostly on summits I have been it's been real close. One would say accurate. But the ascent descent readings were wrong. My wife has the same 66st and hers were very accurate. She had hers in a outside pouch mine was in my shirt pocket.

Re: Total ascent figures [Bug 66]
I keep getting excited when I see that there is an update, but am always inevitably disappointed that they haven't corrected the elevation gain/loss issue yet. I went on a 7.5 mile hike after the 3.1 update. Total ascent on the device was 2935 feet while the elevation corrected figure was 1359 feet. Max elevation 9919 and min 8797.

I just want to examine how the GPSMAP 66 recorded elevation changes during your hike and compare to elevation data for the same location, hoping to spot something that may help determine why this is happening.

Thank you! Did you notice anything in particular when you looked over the data?

Re: Total ascent figures [Bug 66]
Yes... None of the GPX data supports the ascent/descent totals your GPSMAP 66 Trip Computer reported!
GPSMAP 66 v310 Trip Computer: 2935 ft
BaseCamp: 2953 ft
Straight GPS: 1807 ft
Straight DEM: 1522 ft
Maptech: 1257 ft
TopoUSA: 1568 ft
Strava/Garmin: 1245 ft
BTW, what are your settings in Setup > Altimeter > {Auto Calibration} and {Barometer Mode}?

Re: Total ascent figures [Bug 66]
That seems odd...
My settings are:
Auto Calibration -- Once
Barometer Mode -- Variable Elevation
Pressure Trending -- Save when power on
Plot Type -- Elevation/Distance
