Do you mean the 'file name' i.e. 'xxx.img', or the map name as it appears on the device?

No, it's the country names used in indexing.

You will be able to search without any problem, by address in the area of Canada. if in Demo mode you move the cursor to the area of Canada or you are physically in this area.

Not clear what you mean by 'indexing'.

In any case, in demo mode, with the cursor located on my home, or outside, connected to satellites, a search for State/Province returns nothing.

So, I reformatted the SD card and reinstalled the Maps using JaVaWa and now the search works. A lot of grief!
