Excellent! Thank you!

We have also reproduced this behavior with our GPSMAP 66s v480. The 'Lost Satellite Reception' warning also appeared after some time.

Also reproduced with a GPSMAP 66sr v270.

Hej, i have the same experience here as described above. it was in 4.70 and in 4.80. But i only use the gpx file with 1000 caches.

Isn't it about time that the loading of large ggz is fixed in general for the 66?
It takes ages to load and looks freezed if one didn't know.

It occurs to me that it needs to clear the database - which seems to need a very long to time to do so - and load the new ggz.
I've been experimenting with deleting manually the db first and then boot the device, which worked fine for 4.7 but it's not clear if it still works for the 4.8

The large ggz isn't to blame since it loads normally on my old 64 which should be a device with lower specs.

Just tested something: You can actually use the proximity alert, as long as you switch it off before powering down, the device will boot just fine.

A potential work around for the time being, but we know this feature worked properly in a previous firmware, so hopefully Garmin gets this ironed out very soon....

I can confirm the problem with the new proximity alert feature with geocaching live (no .ggz, no .gpx).
