GPSMAP 66 Firmware Update 4.80 released 29SEP20:
Changes made from version 4.70 to 4.80:
• Fixed possible issue reading data from microSD cards

Garmin distributes new releases in stages over a period of a day or two.
The update will be available shortly either OTA or via Garmin Express.

The 128 GB microSD card with all my maps, POIs, BirdsEye imagery, tracks etc. which didn't work with firmware 4.70 is OK with this version.

Was there any detail of anything from 4.20? That’s a lot of minor versions skipped?

Five posts down from this one, in the same forum, is the
GPSMAP 66 Firmware 4.70 thread. You will find there were a lot of updates and improvements between 4.20 and 4.70, that is why so many 'minor versions' were skipped.

Once you have GPSrChive loaded in your favorite browser, start by selecting the desired device (in this case, the
GPSMAP 66), then select the 'Firmware' page to view a list of all the release notes for each and every firmware version for the selected device!

GCD Updates
Current (non beta) firmware updates are available directly from Garmin using the URL
https://download.garmin.com/software/GP ... r__xyz.gcd and substituting xyz with the desired three digit firmware version. For example, to download firmware version 2.80, replace xyz with 280.
