Saving part of activity (track).

GPSMAP 66st firmware 4.20, chipset firmware 2.80.
Hi.
Is it possible to save a section of the current activity on the GPSMAP 66st?
This is possible on some old GPSr such as etrex vista HCx.
On the vista hcx, when saving a track, it first asks if you want to save the entire track or not, if no is selected, one will be prompted to select start and end point of what to save.

This is handy if one forgets to (or cannot) reset before the activity, or save right after an activity.

I have not been able to find something similar on the 66st, but perhaps someone knows how to perform such a partial save (in case it is possible)?

Another function that has not yet been documented here for the GPSMAP 66, but is virtually identical to the process outlines at GPSrChive > Oregon 7x0 > Applications > Current Activity > Save Partial. The only real difference is that you have to push buttons instead of selecting items directly on the screen.

As an FYI, the GPSMAP 66 software was taken from the Oregon 7x0 and modified as required to work with the push button design, so most anything that is not yet documented at the GPSMAP 66 page can be found at the Oregon 7x0 page. if you can use your imagination a little bit. 8^)

Actually, you can choose where from to where to, so long as...

Each time the current recording is stopped, not saved, and restarted, a new segment is created for the existing tracklog.

These segments are what you get to choose from when 'Saving Partial'.

So, if while recording the tracklog you know the points where you might want to select starting and stopping points when saving, simply stop and restart the recording at each of these locations.
