By "adding" you mean enabling Topo US/Canada 2008?

Yes, that is correct.

And whenever I disable USA/Canada V. 2.00, the greyed-out zone disappears at high zooms. But I suppose it doesn't matter that much, because disabling USA/Canada v. 2.00 doesn't affect regions like the British VIs.

Where did you get the US/Canada Topo v2 map?

It came with my GPSr gpsmap 66st, factory installed. I bought it in the States.

The factory loaded Topo Map for America is Topo US 100k v6.0

I bought my gpsmap 66st at REI in Salt Lake City (fall of 2019). It came with Topo 100k (non-routable) for entire US and Canada.

Interesting that you could duplicate the issue with US Topo v.6.
