...For the record, I tried enabling battery save mode and disabling the compass and using a set of freshly changed Garmin batteries, my unit managed just over 19 hours based on the trip time the unit reports.

How do you disabled the compass? (Which menu?)

Disable Compass: Setup > Heading > Compass Mode > Off

The new map-menu entry "Hide Dashboard" ist not translated (tested in german and french).

Translation seems not be on the checklist for new firmware-releases

I only see "Log Geocache" and "Geocache filter". This are translated --> ok

But: What I miss is a menu entry "Geocache Description / hint". this would for me more important than "Geocache filter" (when you are navigating to a geocache you do not need longer the filter.

No, but pressing and holding (Find) results in a MOB marked and begins navigation to the waypoint.

MOB is already designed to a key per default - HOLD FIND-key for a longer time
