Yes, you are right - i talked about apps, you about widgets
But here is is called APP
https://apps.garmin.com/de-AT/devices/gpsmap66/apps

You are talking about WIDGETs

This seems to be a difference - Garmin is mixing things

The examples you indicated you were having trouble with are both widgets.

I definitely have a problem with IQ APPS:

I downloaded "Notes" (https://apps.garmin.com/en/apps/abae37a ... 85ad85cba0 , which is compatible with the 66). It appears in Garmin Express and I did some settings for the app.
I deleted there also "Wikiloc". After synchronizing (which is confirmed be Garmin Express), I see in the APP-Folder some files created/changed. But the app does not appear on the GPS in Menu "IQ", but Wikiloc is still there.

I tried to delete the content of the folder "Apps" which resulted in an Error in Garmin Express. Restored the Files. Synchronisation ok, but still "Wikiloc "on the device (which I deleted) and "Notes" does not appear.

You do not have a problem with Connect IQ or your GPSr. The only problem I can see is you are not paying attention.

Of course it doesn't appear in Connect IQ page, it is a WIDGET - If you took some time to READ the pages suggested prior, you would already understand this.

Just cant beat your Garmin GPSr into submission?

It isn't gonna do it your way, you have to do it the way the GPSr was designed to do it!

Thanks gpsrchive for your patience.
It seems that I'm not able to follow the manual and all the helpfull hints here in the forum.

Therefore: A picture says more than a thousand words: Have a look what I did, perhaps you find out what exactly I did wrong:

Ok, after trying some more things I did a hard-reset of the GPS (again..).
Now it works.
I''m worried about the different behavior of my GPS connected to a Mac or an Windows-PC

Thank you for taking the time to do such a detailed example. It makes it much easier for everyone to understand.

In your PDF example, I believe the "Geocaching" text was the Notes Widget. You must have entered the 'Geocaching' text in one of the paragraph fields during setup in Garmin Express.

As for the 'issue' with Wikiloc not removed properly from the Mac, all I can guess is either A. An issue with Mac OS Garmin Express (or you need to update) or B. You possibly corrupted some files Mac OS uses to remove IQ items when you played around in the APPS folder.

None the less, the device reset seems to have cleared that up for you. I would urge you to not 'play' with folders and files you do not fully understand, otherwise strange things may occur, as you have witnessed!
