Bug: Routing uses method from last selected profile [Bug 52]
Posted: Thu May 23, 2019 8:55 am
When you change to a new profile and start routing, it uses the routing method from the last selected profile. When you then go and re-select the currently configured routing method, it recalculates using the correct routing method.
Test methodology (100% repeatable):
1. Select Driving profile (that has been previously configured for Automobile Driving in Setup / Routing)
2. Select a route from the Route Planner, View Map and select Go (and it will calculate the route)
3. Visually confirm the route is using roads and not paths
4. Stop Navigation
5. Select Hike profile (that has been previously configured for the Hiking activity in Setup / Routing)
6. Select the same route from the Route Planner, View Map and select Go (and it will calculate the route using Automobile Driving)
7. Go to Setup / Routing and visually confirm it is set for Hiking
8. Re-select Hiking again, and you will hear the single beep as the route is re-calculated for Hiking
9. Return to the map page and confirm the route is now using paths etc
(Reported to Garmin via email)
I belatedly realised that RaoulBE reported this same issue back in March: https://www.gpsrchive.com/Discussion/vi ... f=36&t=201
