GPSMAP 78 Battery Modification

Unread post by Themotorman »

I have modified my 78sc to use a single cell lithium 1000mahr battery rechargeable . Cost was about $5.00! Now it will run for days! Although haven't done a full lighted test yet.
The modification was easy and it will remove the existing corrodable battery contacts too!. You do need to solder two wires.
This is how it could have been made. The new battery fits very nicely in the same place as the AA ones did.
If you need more details I'll post a utube.

I found a youtube site for model electric model trains from themotorman and a website for electric motocycles.

But nothing about the post themotorman put here.

Do not know if it is the same person.
