Basecamp: no more symbols

Unread post by jeancap_31 »

Hello,
I have been using BaseCamp for many years plotting itineraries in Europe and USA.
My GPS is BMW Nav 5, equivalent to Zumo 550
I have recently discovered that I have no longer any symbols to personnalise my waypoints. I click and re click with no effect.
I went to explore my PC under W10 and went to:
User>Document>My Garmin>Personalised Waypoint Symbol (this is a translation from french)
This file only contains 8 symbols, all blue dots, numbered from 000.png to 007.png
Does it mean that the Garmin symbol library has vanished : hotel, restaurant, bars, garages, gas station, etc....

Can you help me to recover it ?

Thanks

In English, the directories I have in Windows 10 are:

C: > Users > {user name} > Documents > My Garmin > Custom Waypoint Symbols
C: > Users > {user name} > Documents > My Garmin > Custom POI Symbols

All my custom symbols are present, and I can not imagine what may have transpired to cause you to lose yours :(

I do make archival backup copies of my custom waypoint symbols for just such an occasion, I do hope you have a backup copy somewhere you can restore?

Are you talking here about the normal symbol range that is included with BaseCamp or custom symbols you've created yourself?

If the normal ones then try uninstalling then reinstalling BaseCamp.
