Odd route across the Chanel

Post by Landyman130 » Sun Aug 26, 2018 4:03 pm

Over the years, I seen a number of silly routes produced by software and now got one with BaseCamp.

Planing a trip in Europe from the UK, I decided to start at the Port of Calais in France and travel east. However, BC decided that I should get back onto a ferry to the UK. Then from Dover port go to the Euro-tunnel and get on a train back to France.

As discussed elsewhere this is because you chose as your starting point the outbound port of Calais past immigration. The only legal way therefore was to return to UK. Once you corrected that the route calculated 'correctly'
