Re: Search for cities not working

They have not been able to reproduce.... Although we both were able to crash the device once...... Re: Search for cities not working

Garmin have requested video showing this behavior. Please upload to youtube and post link here, or email to webmaster@GPSrChive.com and we will make sure they see it! This was really easy for me to reproduce following the steps described. Once the initial crash happens then the second failure mode ...

Re: Cycle maps

I have used the Garmin ones on the Edge 1000 but prefer the ones below for either on road or the MTB ones for off-road

Re: Settings Saved Under Profiles

At GPSrChive > GPSMAP 66 > Setup, it would be a good idea to distinguish significantly those settings that are not saved to profiles. And somewhere else write them all together. This has been on the "To Do" list for some time, but it is a long and tedious process that would have to be done for all ...

Expedition Mode Power-Off Timeout

Currently the Expedition Mode will run forever if the unit is accidentally left in this mode. On a long trek sometimes it can be easy to forget to turn the unit off completely at the end of the day. In my previous GPS device by Satmap it was possible to configure a timeout so the unit would power of...

Expedition Mode Configurable Timeout

Having had some more time with the unit and thinking through how I used my previous device I think the following would be good enhancements to the 66. I'd appreciate other users thoughts. Currently the Expedition Mode can be set to timeout after 2 minutes of inactivity only. My previous GPS device w...

The unit might have crashed while the file was open. That would present a problem. It doesn’t have all of it’s attributes such as file size.
This happens without a unit crash
