Re: Current position in UTM format ??

From my first response:

GPSrChive > GPSMAP 66 > Operation > Data Fields

Also available via:

GPSrChive > How To... > Data Fields

Sounds like you haven't been to GPSrChive yet?

Re: Current position in UTM format ??

At step 3, select either 'Current Status' or 'All Categories'.

The page suggested earlier explains that these are the only data field categories that include the 'Location (selected)' data field option.

Re: GPSMAP 66 is Non-Functional After firmware 4.70 Update

Re: Current position in UTM format ??

If you read the pages I suggested above, you will find that....

The data field 'Location (selected)' displays the current position using the selected position format setting.

NOT the destination.

'Location (selected)' is the same as 'Location (current)'.

1. Configure GPSMAP 66 > Setup > Position Format > UTM Please see: GPSrChive > GPSMAP 66 > Setup > Position Format 2. Enable data fields in Compass, Map, or Trip Computer pages as desired to display 'Location (selected)'. Please see: GPSrChive > GPSMAP 66 > Operation > Data Fields > Location (select...

Yes, the Forced USB Mass Storage Mode process is available from the GPSrChive > GPSMAP 66 > Troubleshooting page. Look for "Why does my computer not recognize my GPSMAP 66?".

Re: GPSMAP 66 is Non-Functional After firmware 4.70 Update

@CheminerWill, Did you try the Forced USB Mass Storage Mode to gain access to your GPSMAP 66 so you could remove your GPX/GGZ files AND the SQL directory before rebooting it? This will get you access to the device without waiting for it to boot. The process is listed under the GPSrChive > GPSMAP 66 ...

Re: GPSMAP 66 is Non-Functional After firmware 4.70 Update

Those 'support personnel' are very misinformed to say the least. It is well known that geocaches loaded to any Garmin GPSr via BaseCamp commonly have multiple issues. We strongly urge users to NOT DO THIS. BaseCamp has a horrible track record for geocache database work. Loading geocaches directly fr...
